The Case Management Director coordinates and directs the hospital Utilization of Resources and Discharge Planning programs. This position ensures that Resource Utilization functions such as certification of inpatient stays, assistance with proper patient type designation and improving the appropriate ordering and use of resources are carried out. Other significant areas of focus include Discharge Planning functions such as timely and accurate disposition of patients.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Information Administration is required. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience (diversity preferred); with a minimum of 2 years in Utilization Review, Discharge Planning or Case Management. Broad exposure to Quality Improvement and Utilization Management systems and methodology highly preferred.
